The pop industry flourished on Prince Edward Island during the 1920's and 1930's as this province was the last to repeal prohibition. Instead of liquor, it was quite fashionable to serve a Raspberry Cordial at any social function. The down turn in the industry occurred right around the second world war when, small companies sold off their businesses to the larger companies looking to aquire the sugar their rations.

This gray stoneware bottle measures 6 1/2" tall by 2 5/8" diameter. It even has the twine bale that would have been used to hold in the cork. Note the merchant stamp and the misspelling. Check out the Ginger Beer label below to see what I mean.

This brown stoneware bottle measures 6 1/2" tall by 2 3/4" diameter. Another run of bottles and another mistake. Perhaps the third time really is the charm.

This circa 1920's stock brand paper label is part of a set of nine different flavors that would have been applied to glass (plain and embossed) bottles, the other flavors are: Apple Cider, Pineapple Thrill Pulpy, Orange Thrill, Lemon Sour, Sparkling Orangeade, Orange Thrill Pulpy, Grape Thrill, and two different Lime Rickey.

This circa 1860's paper label is part of a set of ten different flavors that would have been applied to stones or glass (plain and embossed) bottles, the other flavors are: Cream Soda, Ginger Beer, Cherry Soda, Ginger Ale, Root Beer, Raspberry Soda, Orange Phosphate, Iron Brew, Lemon Sour, and Orange Cloud.

This circa 1930's paper label is part of a set of twenty-two (18 different flavors 3 different sizes) that would have been applied to glass (plain and embossed) bottles, the other flavors are: Spruce Beer 8, 12 & 24oz, Hop Ale 12 & 24oz, Apple Cider 12 & 24oz. The remaining are 8oz size: Wintergreen, Lemon Sour, Kola Champagne, Sarsaparilla, Ginger Beer, Grape Dash, Chocolate Cream, Iron Brew, Claret & Lemonade, Pineapple, Birch Beer, Raspberry, Strawberry, Loganberry, Celery Cream Tonic.
